Identium Tracking
RFID logistics: every box, trolley and pallet accounted for.
OVERVIEW
Identium Tracking moves reusable logistics assets (boxes, trolleys, pallets) between warehouses, hubs and client sites with a paper trail that writes itself. Dispatch puts items In-Transit under an auto-generated GRN number, receiving returns them to Available, and reconciliation closes the loop once everything is back or accounted for.
THE CHALLENGE
Logistics loses things in the gaps between locations. The system had to make the dispatch → receive → reconcile cycle painless on a rugged handheld at a loading dock, work for multiple tenant companies, and produce the GRN documentation ERP systems and auditors expect.
WHAT I BUILT
- 01
A GRN lifecycle engine: dispatch mints GRN-YYYY-#### documents, receiving scans settle them, and a reconciliation state machine auto-closes each GRN to Reconciled when every item is Returned or Consumed.
- 02
An Item Types master (Box / Trolley / Pallet / custom) that drives a dynamic by-type view across the whole dashboard, so new asset categories need zero code changes.
- 03
Offline-tolerant Android handheld app (Kotlin + Compose, Room, Hilt, WorkManager) on the CX1500N: bulk RFID scans queue locally and sync when the dock's network allows.
- 04
Multi-tenant backend (v2.3.2) with per-company branded builds via companies.properties, plus a React PWA 'Control Tower', a written user manual, deployment/scaling docs and an ERP field spec.
OUTCOME
A production-shaped logistics product: versioned, documented, multi-tenant. Boring in a good way, and the backbone for goods movement on RFID.
