CX Flow Pro
A rugged PDA turned into a full RFID workstation.

OVERVIEW
CX Flow Pro turns the CX1500N rugged gun-grip PDA into a full RFID workstation: bulk UHF inventory, tag programming across all banks, Geiger-counter proximity search, keyboard-emulation injection, cloud webhook auto-mode and the AISense settings optimiser, all published on the Play Store.
THE CHALLENGE
Field tools live on the hardware trigger and the loading dock, not in the design studio. The app had to be fast and rugged for warehouse use, but the product still deserved a considered visual identity, so I explored two complete design languages before building.
WHAT I BUILT
- 01
Explored the product in two full design systems before writing a line of app code: an 'iOS-premium' language and a red monolithic 'Nothing'-inspired industrial language, screen by screen.
- 02
Hand-rolled OOXML (XLSX) and native PdfDocument exporters with zero third-party Office libraries, keeping the app self-contained.
- 03
An Accessibility-service keyboard-wedge that injects scanned data into any app, plus hardware-key trigger broadcast handling and cross-API haptics.
- 04
Room persistence, light/dark glassmorphic Material theming and a Play Store App Signing release pipeline.
OUTCOME
A published, daily-use field app, and a design case study in taking one product through two distinct visual identities before committing.
