Crates Manager
A kiosk inventory system anyone can walk up to and use.
OVERVIEW
Crates Manager runs office inventory on a phone mounted to the wall. Anyone can walk up, tap Take or Add, point the camera for verification, and go. Behind it sits an admin panel with approvals, reports and analytics, plus a documented 'Fluid' design system covering nine screen families from dashboard to shipment tracking.
THE CHALLENGE
Shared inventory dies by a thousand unlogged hands. The fix had to be faster than not logging: a kiosk flow that takes seconds, needs zero training, and still gives admins real control and a real audit trail. It also had to be secure without making people type passwords on a wall.
WHAT I BUILT
- 01
A kiosk-first PWA with two verbs, Take and Add, tuned for a mounted phone. Huge targets, camera verification per transaction, done in seconds.

Security without passwords: a rotating OTP scheme with server-side master-PIN approval for sensitive actions, backed by Supabase row-level-security policies and SQL migrations.

An admin panel with item requests, approvals, reports and analytics, plus a modern Astro rewrite with full architecture, audit and deployment docs.

The 'Fluid' design system itself: nine documented screen families (dashboard, inventory, requests, crates, reports, shipments, settings, warehouse) designed before the build so every surface speaks one language.
OUTCOME
Unlogged shared inventory became a seconds-long, audited kiosk flow, and the Fluid design system now anchors the product's whole visual language.
